Hublot’s founder, Carlos Crocco, burst into the elite watch making world with traditionally fine Swiss workmanship, but combined his modern and sporty designs with very untraditional materials. Mr. Crocco’s “Hublot” created the very first luxury gent’s wristwatch, pairing 18k gold with wrist-forming natural black rubber! This innovative, exciting new look quickly grabbed the attention of high profile royal families and celebrities throughout the world.
Pleasantly, Hublot’s revolutionary design idea would go out of fashion; rather, it has been the starting point that has inspired further “material fusion” -not only from within Hublot- but the entire watch making industry!
