Earlier this week we brought you a look at the history behind the chronograph and how it works. Now, we take a look at a visionary chronograph from a legendary brand: Zenith. Since its inception, Zenith has been building great timepieces, and has made history with its El Primero movement. Now the brand releases the Limited Edition El Primero Lightweight.
The watch is made of high-tech materials, including carbon fiber, titanium and silicon, and houses the famed El Primero 4052 W automatic movement with bridges and mainplate made of titanium. Additionally, the double chronograph wheel is made of silicon, a quarter lighter than a traditional brass-plated movement.
The case, which is 45mm in diameter, is crafted of the ultra-lightweight carbon fiber. While superbly visionary in looks, the watch is actually inspired by the first El Primero automatic chronograph, launched in 1969, with integrated construction. Zenith naturally has a host of chronograph timepieces in its stable and we invite you to come in and take a look.
